Well it feels like it’s been a long time since I did this. My poor blog has been neglected in a happy haze of family time, camping, beaches, and sunshine. The New Zealand summer has been spectacular so far and the last thing I’ve felt like doing is being here in front of a computer screen.
I have been checking out some of what others have been doing and the year end seems to be a time of reflection in so many areas, but sewing also. I’ve seen so many other blogs with collages of the years sewing and thought I’d have a play around. I have a feeling they may be a bit naff, but I’m not sure. What do you think?
I often feel frustarated with sewing. I work part time, I’m studying and my kids still need a lot of my time. Then things like cooking, housework and having a relationship take time too, when secretly all I want is to be sneaking off to the sewing room. Doing these boards has actually been helpful. I made over 50 things last year! That’s way more than I would have guessed at. Maybe I’m not as slow as I thought I was! Maybe I get more time sewing than I think!
Ok, those who have worked out that there aren’t 50 pics here, I didn’t actually get around to photographing everything. That’s one of the reasons I started the blog, just to remind me to record what I’ve been making. Then on those nights when I’m reaching for the seam ripper – again- I can remember that it’ll all work out eventually.
Maybe we all need to extend that to real life.
