Zebra Hopscotch dress

Here’s another Hopscotch dress made for and worn to Elsa’s end of term Jungle Party yesterday.

She has worn her other Hopscotch dress so much it seemed like the obvious choice. I had the Zebra knit fabric hanging around since before I started sewing.

Pattern: Oliver + s Hopscotch dress
Fabric: Stash busting
Embroidery: Juju designs
Button: Handmade by a friend.

  1. Thanks, Lesley. This was a lot of fun to make. She was totally into the zebra fabric but it would have been overwhelming for the whole dress. The applique is supposed to be a horse – hence the bridle but I think he makes a pretty cute zebra!

  2. I love it! One of my girls is really into the zebra print too. I’m just curious, do you purchase the embroidery design and load it into your machine? Is that how it works? I really want to be able to do this. It just really makes the clothing you do even more special.

    • Hi Shirley,
The embroidery files are either made or bought – in my case in .jef format. They are stored on my computer then downloaded onto Compact Flash cards for my machine which the machine can read. A lot of more modern machines use USB which is much more convenient. Bernina machines require a direct connection with the computer.
I look forward to seeing what you create.
